The team was started in 2016 with support from Annapolis High school faculty. In 2019 Derick Servin joined the team, now Annapolis High School Alum. Derek is now studying Robotics Engineering at University of Michigan Dearborn. H led the team with similar principles of our own in mind. Due to covid-19, the team was disbanded in 2020 and resumed in 2022 with minimal participation from students and they faced many hardships through the 2022 season.
Today, Karen Servin and Kalob Allen are the team's co-captains. They take into account the principles of empowerment, inclusivity, collaboration, and creating opportunities when they are leading the team. Their goal is to help students achieve greater opportunities in the fields of STEM.
This year the team is composed of many individuals who are creative, driven, and incredibly passionate in what they do. With much more participation from previous years, the Cyber Cougars, during the 2023 season, saw many opportunities and take-aways from being a part of something bigger than just the team.
The Cyber Cougars’ mission is to create a supportive and inclusive environment where every member has the opportunity to learn and develop their skills in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields. Through participation in local and national robotics competitions, we seek to challenge ourselves and push the boundaries of what is possible. Our ultimate goal is to inspire and empower the next generation of engineers and technologists who will lead the way in shaping the future.
Empowering, Inclusivity, Collaboration, Creating Opportunities.
